Who Am I

My name is Perry van Leeuwarden and I live in The Netherlands. I own three '77 Yamaha RD400's. Right now one of them is running, the other one is almost running again and the last one is spreaded everywhere in my depository below my apartment. (not running....)

My love for the Yamaha RD400 started when I got my driving license in 1996 and needed a bike to ride a tour my father planned. A friend of mine, had a bike and I bought it from him. It was an RD400. After having a lot of  trouble (jammed a couple of times, etc) the bike was finally running well. I noticed that is was a rear bike and after all the effort in keeping it running, I decided to keep it for as long as possible.

This is my first RD400:

During the period of keeping the bike running, I bought a RD400, which was saved from total destruction and used the parts to keep the other RD running. My girlfriend was also trying to get her driving license, so I bought my second (running) RD400. She wasn't very comfortable with it so we bought a newer bike, but the RD was not going anywhere.

My second RD400:

The third RD was already parted out when I bought it. The idea was to rebuild it completely and make a custom bike of it. For now I still have does ideas.......

My third RD400:
